Japanese Koi Cast Iron Teapot

This classic teapot is made from sturdy iron and has enamel coating on the interior to prevent rusting. It also comes with a removable stainless steel tea filter. The body is cast with a Koi design. Koi symbolizes perseverance, courage, and good fortune in traditional Japanese culture. Cast ironware heats evenly and retains heat well and is praised worldwide for their beauty, strength, and superb quality. Please note that this teapot should not be used directly on stovetop to heat water.

Historically during the mid 19th century as infused tea drinking became more popular in Japan, tetsubin or cast iron teapot evolved from being a kitchen item to being a status symbol used to serve tea. Many nobles cherish their teapots as treasures and are kept in the family for generations.

This is how you serve tea

this is how you serve tea, It keeps the tea warm longer, always mkes an impression and of course I get to explain the coy fish are considered good luck. Very nice pot

It is very nice and it has an interesting design.

Great teapot!

I got this teapot and four matching tea cups as a Christmas present for a friend and he loves it! Its works great. He uses it at least twice a day.

My mom loved it.

I bought this one for my mom because the one I got for my wife last year was great. However just like the one we got last year the handle is super tight and you feel like you're trying to break it when you tilt the handle. Once you've used it for a while it gets broken in and turns easier. We use ours all the time and I hope my mom uses her's even half as often as we do.

Perfect!!!

I almost bought a cast iron kettle for $250 at the mall--I checked online and found this one instead. Its everything the $250 one was at a fraction of the price. My basket did discolor with rust after a few uses but thats fine--easily replaced. I use my kettle often and I love it!
